Physiotherapy and Osteopathy

Our assessments and treatments provide a holistic approach to dealing with various different conditions, including but not limited to, musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Treatments consist of mainly manual therapy techniques, using myofascial release, osteoarticular, visceral, neural and cranial osteopathy. Postural education, ergonomics and exercise programs are also provided, as needed. Acupuncture and taping are other possible treatment options. Our patients' ages range from newborn and up.

Pelvic Floor Rehabiliation

Pelvic floor dysfunctions (PFD), such as urinary incontinence, can be due to deconditioning of the pelvic floor muscles.  Other causes could include impact or muscular trauma, hormonal changes, obesity, medications, behavioral habits or musculoskeletal factors to name just a few.  An in depth history and a manual examination can help to offer the proper treatment for each individual.  Treatment for PFD can include manual therapy techniques and/or a personal exercise program to be done at home.  This service is offered to women only and performed by Lorraine Hamblin.

Breathing Assessments

Did you know that decreased concentration, memory problems, chronic pain, anxiety and shortness of breath could all have one thing in common?  They could be affected by decreased carbon dioxide in your blood stream.  Carbon dioxide is a gas that helps to regulate the oxygen that is circulated to the tissues in your body.  By decreasing the levels of carbon dioxide in your body there is less oxygen being taken up by these tissues.  A breathing assessment, done with the help of a computer program, can help to determine in what situation(s) the carbon dioxide is being compromised.  Afterwards, an appropriate home exercise program, with a few follow-up sessions, will be given to help you retrain your breathing.  This service is provided by Lorraine Hamblin.
